Let’s get this out of the way first: the connecting and holding quality of these bricks do NOT hold up to Lego standards, but really only noticeable with large plates or large sub assemblies. Otherwise, the colors look fantastic, brown does NOT break like Lego does, and this ship looks AMAZING when it’s built! Took myself and my dad just over 8 hours to complete. Some more detailing on the top deck would be nice, like barrels and weapon racks or other things you might find on a ship of war, but otherwise this is fantastic in detail, lots to look at and study over. Bravo to the designer!!! Considering the minor piece fitment issues, this is more than worth the price. A word of caution: some pieces may be scattered into other bags, so you may need to borrow from subsequent bags, but in the end all our pieces were accounted for (although no extras whatsoever, so don’t lose any!) Instructions weren’t too bad, but many subsections are built top-down, so pieces in some steps are hidden due to being placed UNDER something (as opposed to just reversing the order in which the pieces are presented, to build bottom-up). Dark brown and black can be a bit difficult to distinguish at first, until you quickly realize that the shapes are only available in one color or the other. 9/10 – build experience 7/10 – piece quality 9/10 – colors and consistency (no “50 shades of lime” here) 3/10 – playability (decks can be removed, cannons can shoot, but it’s VERY impractical, as it’s a display piece) 10/10 – display ability -/10 – replayability (I’m sure other ships’ can be built using just the pieces from this, but we won’t be bothering with that) 10/10 – artist’s vision, design structure, and build techniques 10/10 – LetBricks! Friendly and personable service, I had a great chat with them (not even business-related, just chatting about MOCs and enjoying building them)
