    Details in Design:
“USS Enterprise (CVN-65)” designed by bru_bri_mocs
The first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the longest naval vessel ever built; ladies and gentlemen: the USS Enterprise!
The USS Enterprise (CVN-65) is a US Navy aircraft carrier built in 1958-1961 and in service for more than 50 years from 1961 to 2012, a real record of longevity for this kind of ship.
The Enterprise had a crew of some 4600 members and, thanks to his eight Westinghouse nuclear reactors, an unlimited range of distance and an autonomy of 20-25 years, limited only by the crew supplies.
This legendary ship has a lenght of 342 m (1123 ft), a top speed of 33,6 kn (62 km/h – 39 mph) and can carry up to 90 aircraft! To launch the aircraft in a so short distance, the flight deck has four steam-powered catapults, and to stop the landing aircraft there are four super strong steel cables.
The aircraft are held under the flight deck, on the hangar deck, and the ship has four external elevators to move them from one deck to another.
Build the MOC model of the USS Enterprise! This MOC is a 1:350 scale model of the ship and includes a lot of details and features:
    – Flight deck with jet exhaust deflectors
    – Arresting cables on the landing runway
    – Elevators to move aircraft from hangar to flight deck
The MOC includes 28 aircraft at the same 1:350 scale:
    – 10x F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet
    – 5x EA-6B Prowler electronic-warfare jet
    – 3x S-3 Viking anti-submarine aircraft
    – 3x E-2 Hawkeye AWACS aircraft
    – 3x C-2 Greyhound cargo aircraft
    – 4x SH-60 Seahawk multi-mission helicopter
The MOC also includes a wooden colour pedestal.
The building instructions of this MOC consist of a PDF guide divided in 3 parts, for a total of 756 pages (853 steps). The total size of the files is 300 MB.

Summary: good build, good instructions, very poor stickers.

The build experience of this ship can be divided in two halves. The first half is generally pleasant and straightforward. If you’re familiar with Cobi’s WW2 ship sets, this is put together in a very similar manner, with a brick-built core held together by plates and the slopes grafted on to the sides. This makes it fairly strong in my experience, and the instructions are clear. Where I started having issues was with the flight deck. Minor errors start cropping up, such as assembling plates together in one step, and then being required to take them apart because a subassembly actually connects between them. Or Parts which actually collide against one-another, and you need to make some slight modifications to make them fit. A lot of the components on the peripheries of the flight deck are also not attached very well, either.

The worst issue has to be the stickers though. Not only do they all run over multiple pieces, but (as you can see even in the pictures advertised here) the larger ones actually run *over* and between studded plates. You both need to be careful with how you place them, and I found I had to cut a few of them short or divide them up into smaller pieces so I can bypass the plated sections. The plaque that comes with it does have a decent print though. Strangely they don’t give you the pieces to actually make it stand up, which I find bizarre.

The brick quality is acceptable. The parts generally have enough clutch power to hold themselves together fairly well, with the exception being any bars that go through axle holes. These tend to be inconsistent; some parts are exceptionally tight, but most are loose in my experience. There is some slight colour inconsistency in both shades of greys, but not enough to be marked as a major problem. Despite making use of numbered bags, all these need to be opened and sorted at the beginning of the build. The biggest critique is that some of the parts I received were dirty.

Now that it’s all completed, I can’t say I’m unhappy with the model. The fact it has twenty-eight planes is very generous, and the fact it has a hangar space (which is split in two) with usable doors is also a nice touch. Access to these is provided when you remove the angled flight deck, which is only attached by a few studs, although this doesn’t give you full access to the front hangar. When you factor in the price (which only gets better with the promo codes), I’m quite satisfied with it.

Now the only thing left to do is to add a couple of Tomcats to it, and then I’ll be happy to display it next to my CV-6 model.

This is not a build for beginners by any means, but if you’re up to the challenge, the end result is very cool. I had a mostly good experience with this build, only suffering 1 missing part out of nearly 5k which is incredible. The overall strength of the ship is great but a fair bit of small parts at the end are easy to knock off if you’re not careful. Also, the pieces coloring (not visible on the outside) are strange but makes it pretty easy to tell where they go in the instructions. The ship features working elevators and doors for aircraft, a removable flight deck, and a TON of aircraft. My only real gripes are that the doors are too loose and fall out if you tip the boat even a little, and the fair bit of easy to knock off pieces (mainly all around the deck). I also wish there was a proper way to attach the planes to studs on the deck aside from using my spare parts.

TL;DR: Not a set for beginners but it’s solid and the end result will make a great display piece.
